Saarani Mohamad calls for national unity during Merdeka celebrations

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad emphasized the responsibility of the current generation to improve Malaysia for those who follow during the 2026 Merdeka Eve celebrations in Ipoh. Speaking at the event held at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, he noted that while previous generations fought for independence, the current generation must focus on building a more prosperous, peaceful, and united nation.

Saarani highlighted that national strength depends not only on economic progress and infrastructure but also on social cohesion. He urged citizens to maintain trust and maturity in handling differing views to prevent prejudice from undermining unity. He expressed the goal of leaving a legacy where future generations can pursue careers and ambitions with confidence in a stable and advancing country.
