Saarbrücken court to deliver verdict in bailiff murder case

A verdict is expected from the Saarbrücken District Court regarding the murder of a 58-year-old court bailiff in Bexbach. The incident occurred in November 2025 when the bailiff was stabbed with a hunting knife while attempting to execute a forced eviction.

The prosecution has requested an 11-year prison sentence, arguing that the defendant acted with treachery and low motives. Due to the defendant's mental state, prosecutors have also requested permanent placement in a psychiatric facility for offenders.

The prosecution considers the 42-year-old defendant to have diminished responsibility. The co-plaintiff has requested a 13-year sentence and psychiatric confinement, while the defense has pleaded manslaughter, requesting a five-year sentence and placement in a specialized psychiatric hospital due to the defendant's schizophrenia.
