Saarlouis Royals host Sopron Basket in EuroCup Women

The Saarlouis Royals are set to host the Hungarian club Sopron Basket in a EuroCup Women matchup at the Stadtgartenhalle. Led by head coach Matiss Rozlapa, the Royals enter this second Group I game following a narrow 65:69 loss to SL Benfica.

Sopron Basket arrives as the group leader after a decisive 89:71 victory against UŽKK Student Niš. The Hungarian side is a prominent name in European women's basketball, having won the EuroLeague Women in 2022 along with numerous national titles. Their roster features international talent including Zala Friškovec, Kennedy Todd-Williams, Nneka Ezeigbo, Maša Janković, and Serbian national player Jelena Brooks.

The Royals face significant challenges, including the absence of key players Elina Koskimies and Jordyn Jenkins due to injuries. To compete against the physically strong Hungarian team, the Royals will need to focus on defensive concentration, rebounding, and minimizing turnovers.
