Saater Tiseer leaves APC for Accord Party

Saater Tiseer, the suspended Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly representing Mbagwa Constituency, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Accord Party (AP).

Tiseer cited injustice and impunity within the APC state chapter as reasons for his departure. He specifically alleged irregularities during the April 2026 primaries, claiming that despite winning across all six wards of his constituency, the party fraudulently announced a different candidate. Rather than pursuing legal action, Tiseer stated he is exercising his constitutional right to freedom of association.

Having already secured the Accord Party ticket for his constituency, Tiseer intends to seek re-election under the new platform in the 2027 general elections. He has also called on his constituents to reject the APC and Governor Hyacinth Alia’s political camp in the upcoming polls.
