Sabadell nursery school activates health protocols after scabies case
A case of scabies has been detected among children at the Arraona municipal nursery school in Sabadell, Spain. The Sabadell City Council, which manages the center, has informed families and activated health protocols in coordination with the Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Emergency Response Service.
In response to the detection, the school is implementing specific hygiene measures for its spaces and materials. Health authorities noted that scabies, a skin infestation caused by mites, is primarily transmitted through direct skin-to-skin contact or indirectly by sharing clothing and linens. While such cases can occur in educational settings due to high levels of contact, officials emphasized that protocols are in place to limit further contagion.
