Sabah announces 2026 scholarship and education aid programs

The Sabah state government has introduced various educational assistance and scholarship initiatives for the year 2026. Through the Sabah Education Sponsorship Portal (PTPS), applicants can access centralized online services to apply for several funding channels.

Key programs include the Sabah State Government Scholarship (BKNS), which offers different tiers such as the Anugerah Tuan Yang Terutama (TYT) for top-performing students, the Excellence Scholarship, and the Perdana/General Scholarship. These cover diploma, undergraduate, and master's degree levels at recognized institutions. Other available assistance includes Yayasan Sabah, MUIS Zakat & Fitrah, Baitulmal Sabah, and specific programs under the Special Duties Office (BUDI, BAIK & SUBFLY).

To qualify for BKNS, applicants and at least one parent must be Malaysian citizens originally from or residing in Sabah. Applications must be submitted through the official state government portal.
