Sabah entrepreneurs receive RM950.78 million in financing

More than 44,000 entrepreneurs and cooperatives in Sabah have received RM950.78 million in financing through September this year. The funds were distributed via the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) and its agencies to support the growth and competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

In a separate initiative, the Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET) reported that 5,879 entrepreneurs benefited from the SME-UP Assistance Programme between 2017 and 2025. This programme focuses on improving production capacity, product quality, and business competitiveness through the acquisition of machinery, equipment, and packaging tools.

New support measures include assistance for halal certification and trademark registration. Additionally, MINDET has worked to expand market access for local products through collaborations with retail chains such as AEON, Bataras Supermarket, and PETRONAS Mesra outlets, benefiting 630 entrepreneurs as of last year.
