Sabah FK addresses fan incident and stadium change

Sabah FK has issued a statement regarding an incident involving fans that occurred prior to their 4-0 victory against Orhus in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. The club emphasized its commitment to fair play, civil behavior, and maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere at home matches. According to the club, the incident involved verbal aggression directed from visiting fans toward local supporters.

Following their advancement to the play-off stage, Sabah FK will move its home matches from the Bank Respublika Arena to the Tofiq Bəhramov Republican Stadium. Club press service head Elnur Hamidov explained that while the move aims to garner greater fan support, it is also a regulatory necessity. The Bank Respublika Arena currently holds a UEFA Category 3 rating, whereas the play-off stage requires a Category 4 standard stadium.
