Sabalenka and Djokovic set for US Open mixed doubles
Belarusian star Arina Sabalenka confirmed she will partner with Serbian champion Novak Djokovic in the mixed‑doubles event at the 2026 US Open. The pair are slated to compete on August 25‑26 at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Queens, with the tournament promoted as a fun and intense title chase.
USTA chief Kreg Tajli highlighted the format’s appeal, saying mixed doubles showcase the sport’s best and attract new audiences. The competition will feature other high‑profile pairings, including Elena Rybakina/Taylor Fritz and Iga Świątek/Kasper Ruud, and will be played on the iconic Arthur Ashe stadium.
Sabalenka expressed confidence, noting, “We are aiming for the title and it will be very fun and intense.” The event is part of the US Open’s effort to broaden fan engagement, with free tickets offered for the first two days of play.
