Sabana del Puerto Primary Care Center renovated by SNS
The National Health Service (SNS) has delivered a renovated Primary Care Center (CPN) in Sabana del Puerto, Dominican Republic, to strengthen local medical services. The project involved an investment of approximately RD$3.26 million for execution and RD$176,900 for equipment, totaling over RD$3.4 million.
The renovated facility includes two consultation rooms, an emergency area, a waiting room, a pharmacy, a vaccination area, a kitchen, and several administrative and residential spaces. The center is designed to provide 24-hour services, including care for women, children, and adults, as well as chronic disease monitoring, home visits, and emergency services.
SNS Executive Director Julio Landrón stated that the initiative is part of the government's efforts under President Luis Abinader to bring primary healthcare closer to communities. The center's pharmacy will also support the HEARTS strategy for hypertension control.
