Sabar Monument group members referred to court in Senegal
Six members of the group known as ‘Sabar Monument’ have been referred to judicial authorities following an incident in the Médina district. The investigation follows a gathering that nearly resulted in a lynching by a hostile crowd, prompting police intervention to secure the individuals.
Digital forensics conducted by the Special Division for the Fight against Cybercrime (DSLC) on seized mobile phones revealed various WhatsApp conversations, images, and videos of a sexual nature. These findings have expanded the legal charges against the group, which include criminal conspiracy and the apology of acts against nature.
Furthermore, the investigation has taken a serious medical turn. Two of the suspects are facing charges related to the intentional transmission of HIV after serological tests returned positive results. During questioning, some suspects made statements regarding sexual encounters facilitated through social media platforms like TikTok.
