Sabastian Sawe inducted into Adidas Hall of Fame

Kenyan marathoner Sabastian Sawe has been inducted into the Adidas Hall of Fame. The recognition follows his historic performance at the 2026 London Marathon, where he became the first man to break the two-hour barrier in a record-eligible marathon with a time of 1:59:30.

Sawe received the honor alongside Ethiopian distance runner Yomif Kejelcha. In a statement released on Thursday, September 24, Sawe expressed that the induction was an unexpected and humbling milestone, noting the significance of being celebrated by the sportswear company after years of sacrifice and training.

The ceremony was attended by Adidas CEO Bjoern Gulden. Sawe highlighted that being honored in the presence of the company’s leadership and alongside Kejelcha made the occasion particularly meaningful.
