Sabaton releases new version of ‘Templars’ featuring Pop Evil’s Leigh Kakaty

Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton has released a new version of their track ‘Templars’, featuring Leigh Kakaty, the frontman of the American rock band Pop Evil. The song was originally released in 2025 as part of Sabaton’s eleventh studio album, ‘Legends’.

The collaboration was previewed live at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, where Kakaty joined Sabaton on stage. The partnership aligns with an upcoming North American tour where Pop Evil will serve as a supporting act for Sabaton.

Sabaton vocalist Joakim Brodén noted that the collaboration adds a new layer and energy to the existing track, while bassist Pär Sundström expressed interest in finding new ways to revisit the band’s back catalogue. The move follows previous successful collaborations by the band, such as ‘Yamato’ and ‘Bismarck’.
