Sabaudia to host 2026 SUP World Championships
The 2026 ICF Stand Up Paddle (SUP) World Championships are set to take place in Sabaudia, Italy, at Lake Paola from October 14 to 18. The event will feature competitions in sprint, technical, and long-distance disciplines.
Registration has reached 927 athletes representing 60 nations. The competition is highlighted by the return of several high-profile figures to the international racing scene, including SUP pioneer Connor Baxter, French paddler Noïc Garioud, and Michael Booth.
Portugal will also participate in the championships. The Portuguese Canoeing Federation is focusing on the development of the sport, noting that the accessibility of inflatable boards has contributed to increased participation.
