Sabbioneta approves restoration project for Palazzo Forti

The municipal government of Sabbioneta has approved the technical-economic feasibility project for the restoration and consolidation of Palazzo Forti. This initiative is part of the “Mantova e Sabbioneta: sapere, cultura e innovazione tra città e università” proposal, which aims to transform the palace into a hub for universities, businesses, and the local territory.

The project has advanced to the second phase of the “Mantova Progetti Emblematici 2026” call by Fondazione Cariplo, with a potential total contribution of 2.5 million euros. For Sabbioneta, the updated economic framework includes 843,000 euros in interventions, consisting of 723,000 euros from Fondazione Cariplo and 120,000 euros from municipal resources.

A central component is the 470,000 euro investment for the restoration of the building, focusing on facades, vaults, and wooden and iron elements. The strategy intends to develop a territorial laboratory for high-level training and innovation, specifically targeting local production chains and the Wood District.
