Sabbioneta seeks renewal of Touring Club Italiano Orange Flag

Sabbioneta has launched a formal application to renew its ‘Bandiera Arancione’ (Orange Flag) certification from the Touring Club Italiano, a distinction the city has held since 2008.

Mayor Marco Pasquali stated that the certification serves as an incentive for continued growth rather than a final destination. The renewal process involves a dossier evaluating over 250 indicators, including the quality of hospitality, tourist services, environmental and cultural heritage valorization, and sustainability.

The Bandiera Arancione is a highly selective recognition in the Italian tourism sector; out of more than 3,600 applications over nearly thirty years, only slightly more than 300 villages have achieved the status. Sabbioneta remains the only municipality in the Oglio Po Mantovano-Cremonese area to hold this distinction.
