Sabeco land plot in Ho Chi Minh City may be acquired by Masterise

The prime real estate plot located at 2-4-6 Hai Ba Trung in Ho Chi Minh City, valued at over 4,000 billion VND, may soon be acquired by Masterise. The 6,080m2 site occupies a strategic location with four street fronts: Hai Ba Trung, Dong Du, Thi Sach, and Me Linh Square.

The property has a complex legal history involving the Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (Sabeco). In 2022, former Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang was sentenced to 10 years in prison for violations regarding the management and use of state assets, which caused losses exceeding 2,700 billion VND. The case involved the illegal transfer of management rights from a state-owned enterprise to private entities through the establishment of a joint venture, Sabeco Pearl.

Currently, the site is being used by the Ran Bien Seafood system, which opened a branch there in November 2025. The land is situated near the Saigon River, close to the Bach Dang marina and the under-construction Saigon River pedestrian bridge.
