Saber Interactive confirms trailer references Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford

Saber Interactive CEO Matt Karch has confirmed that the trailer for the upcoming taxi simulator, Rideshare Stimulator, contains intentional references to Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford. The easter eggs include a Texas license plate reading ‘USB DRV’, a nod to a 2018 incident where Pitchford left a USB drive containing adult material at a restaurant.

Karch stated the jab is a response to Gearbox’s Borderlands 4, which features a location called ‘Embracer’s Bluff’—a site many interpreted as a critique of the Embracer Group. Karch defended Embracer, the former parent company of both Saber and Gearbox, and criticized Pitchford’s stance. The tension follows the recent divestment of both studios by Embracer Group due to financial difficulties.
