Sabiha Gökçen Airport Sets New Summer Record for Passengers and Flights

Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport reported its highest ever daily traffic on 19 July 2026, handling 171,460 passengers and 915 flights. The surge, driven by strong summer demand, was managed without incident thanks to coordinated efforts between the airport authority (HEAŞ), terminal operators, and air traffic services, which maintained 24‑hour operations across all support functions.

Airport officials highlighted the achievement as evidence of the facility’s high operational standards and its role in supporting the growth of Turkey’s aviation sector.
