Sabinas advances wastewater treatment plant project

The Mayor of Sabinas, José Feliciano Díaz Iribarren, has confirmed that the project to construct and operate wastewater treatment plants in the municipality is moving forward. The project is expected to be formally presented before November.

Following meetings with authorities from CONAGUA to establish budgets and necessary permits, the municipality is working to finalize documentation. The proposed financing scheme involves a joint participation model where CONAGUA would contribute 40 percent of the costs, while the state, municipality, and SIMAS would cover the remaining 60 percent.

Mayor Díaz Iribarren noted that the municipality had a preliminary project developed since last year and is prepared to contribute the required resources to resolve local wastewater management issues.
