Sabinas Residents Protest Foul Odors from Avocado‑Pit Processing Plant

Residents of the Atenas, El Consuelo and Riva Palacio neighborhoods in Sabinas, Coahuila, have reported persistent and strong foul odors that they say originate from a local plant that processes avocado pits, previously operated by ECCSA. The community alleges that waste water is being discharged onto public streets, creating an unhealthy environment that forces them to keep doors and windows closed.

The neighbors have appealed to health, ecology and civil‑protection authorities for an inspection and corrective measures, emphasizing that industrial activity must comply with environmental standards and not jeopardize public health or quality of life.
