Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter win first Emmy Awards

Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter both secured their first Emmy Awards at the 78th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, moving both artists halfway toward achieving EGOT status.

Bad Bunny won for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for his performance and production work during the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. The performance set a record by winning a total of seven Emmys, including categories for music direction, choreography, and lighting design.

Sabrina Carpenter earned her first Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for her work as an executive producer and performer on the Disney+ special, ‘The Muppet Show’. The special won four awards in total, including honors for writing, editing, and production design. Carpenter’s win in this category placed her ahead of Taylor Swift, who was also nominated for her concert special.

With these wins, both artists—who have previously won Grammy Awards—now only require an Oscar and a Tony to join the elite group of EGOT winners.
