Sabrina Pulvirenti drives health turnaround in Trapani with new hospital units
The Casa di Comunità on via Castelvetrano was inaugurated and the new resuscitation unit at Abele Ajello Hospital in Mazara del Vallo was delivered to the city, marking two long‑awaited public‑health projects in the province of Trapani, Sicily.
Dr. Sabrina Pulvirenti, commissioner of the local health authority ASP Trapani, took office a little over a year ago after the agency was embroiled in a scandal over severe delays in histology reporting. Under her direction the authority has restored credibility, improved efficiency and is meeting the objectives of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). Local officials praised her work and urged further improvements, such as expanding pediatric services.
