Sabrina Salerno considers legal action after receiving death threats

Italian singer Sabrina Salerno has publicly denounced a private message in which an individual wished for her to die of cancer. The 58-year-old artist shared the interaction on social media to highlight the growing trend of dehumanizing online aggression.

Salerno emphasized that while public figures must accept criticism and antipathy, wishing death upon someone via a serious illness is not a form of freedom of expression, but rather a sign of inhumanity. She noted that the anonymity provided by digital screens often leads individuals to forget the human reality of their words. The singer specifically highlighted the gravity of the insult, noting that cancer is a real and personal struggle, having faced breast cancer in 2024.

Salerno stated that she is currently evaluating legal initiatives against the individual responsible for the message.
