Sabyasachi debuts new collection and The Met collaboration at NYFW

Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee returned to New York Fashion Week after 18 years, debuting his spring 2027 collection titled ‘Bengal Byzantine Broadway’. The show featured a high jewelry collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with pieces inspired by the institution’s historical collections.

The collection utilizes 18-karat and 22-karat gold and draws inspiration from various civilizations, including the Mughal Empire and ancient Greece. The runway show included supermodel Christy Turlington and featured a mix of denim, velvet, cashmere, and tweed, blending Bengali handwork with multicultural decorative elements.
