Sacacoyo receives new potable water system

The Dirección de Obras Municipales (DOM) has completed a new potable water system in Sacacoyo, La Libertad, benefiting more than 6,800 residents. The project includes a well 250 meters deep with a capacity of 1,000 gallons per minute and two 50-cubic-meter storage cisterns.

The new infrastructure is designed to triple production and address long-standing water scarcity in both urban and rural areas. The system provides service to over 1,300 residential connections across the urban center and communities including San Antonio, Las Palmeras, Los Naranjos, Ticuma, and La Ceiba 1 and 2.

In addition to the water system, the DOM has completed a road patching plan in Sacacoyo, renovating 13 blocks of streets within the urban area.
