Sacapulas, Guatemala: Alleged resurrection during wake

In the village of El Jocote, located in the municipality of Sacapulas, Quiché, a young woman identified as Yuleidy Ixcotoyac reportedly woke up during her own wake on October 10, 2026. Video footage circulating on social media shows the teenager sitting up in her casket while attendees assist her and offer water.

Her father, Pastor Abraham Ixcotoyac Tojin, told local media that his daughter began feeling unwell during the early morning hours. He attempted to transport her to a health center, but believing she had no pulse or breath, he returned home to prepare for her funeral without a formal medical evaluation.

While family members and members of the local Iglesia de Dios Evangelio Completo have described the event as a miracle, there is currently no official medical report to confirm her death or explain the cause of her loss of consciousness. The young woman stated she experienced intense chest pain before losing consciousness.
