Portuguese Football Federation reintegrates 1.º de Dezembro following court order

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has been ordered by the South Central Administrative Court (TCAS) to reintegrate the club 1.º de Dezembro into the Campeonato de Portugal for the 2026/2027 season.

The dispute arose after the FPF initially excluded the Sintra-based club due to licensing failures regarding unpaid debts to players and coaches, subsequently assigning its spot in Serie 4 to Sacavenense. However, following a successful injunction filed by 1.º de Dezembro, the court mandated that the FPF take all necessary steps to admit the club within 24 hours.

The FPF expressed strong indignation regarding the ruling, stating that the decision was made without hearing the federation's arguments and that it “puts into question the integrity, loyalty, transparency and sporting truth of the competitions.” Despite these concerns, the federation confirmed it will comply with the judicial order to ensure the stability of the competition.
