Sachin Chamaria selected for India in 2026 Para Asian Games Boccia

Indian Boccia athlete Sachin Chamaria has been selected to represent India in both the BC3 Individual and Pairs events at the Aichi-Nagoya Para Asian Games 2026. The selection follows approval from the Sports Ministry for two Boccia athletes to join the national contingent. The Games are scheduled to commence on October 18.

Chamaria, who is currently ranked 19th in the world, has a significant competitive history, including six consecutive national gold medals. His international achievements include winning gold at the 2024 World Boccia Challenger in Bahrain, making him the first Indian male BC3 athlete to secure international gold in the sport. Most recently, at the 2026 World Boccia Challenger in Cairo, he earned a silver medal in the BC3 Pairs event alongside Sarita Dwivedi and a bronze in the BC3 Individual event.

Having suffered a severe spinal cord injury in 2008 that resulted in quadriplegia, Chamaria began playing Boccia in 2021. Beyond competition, he serves as an entrepreneur and an advocate for disability inclusion, aiming to use his platform to encourage more athletes with disabilities to participate in sports.
