Sachin Pilot criticizes Election Commission and discusses Amarinder Singh

Congress leader Sachin Pilot has raised concerns regarding the conduct of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, describing certain actions as “illegal.” Pilot stated that the opposition has formally approached the judiciary to seek intervention regarding the CEC's role.

In a separate matter, Pilot addressed speculation regarding the potential return of former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to the Congress party. While Pilot praised Singh as a man of “tall stature” who served Punjab well, he clarified that he has not personally discussed Singh’s future political plans or intentions to join or leave any specific party.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India concluded a two-day review meeting in Dehradun to prepare for the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly Elections. The sessions included workshops on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) checking and presentations from district officials and various agencies regarding force deployment and law and order.
