Sachin Tendulkar scored first ODI century in 1994

On September 9, 1994, Sachin Tendulkar scored his first One Day International (ODI) century during a triangular series match against Australia at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

After a long wait spanning 78 or 79 innings, Tendulkar scored 110 runs off 130 balls, including eight boundaries and two sixes. His performance helped India secure a 31-run victory over Australia. For his efforts, he was named Player of the Match.

Prior to this milestone, Tendulkar had already amassed over 2,000 ODI runs since his international debut in 1989. The innings marked a significant turning point in his career, following his successful transition to an opening batter against New Zealand earlier that year.
