Sachsen-Anhalt awards Equality Prize to social initiatives

The state of Sachsen-Anhalt has awarded the Equality Prize to several initiatives and individuals for their work in promoting gender equality and social inclusion.

Recognized initiatives include the ADFC state association for providing cycling courses to migrant women to increase mobility and professional opportunities, and the 'Catcalls of Halle' initiative, which combats sexual harassment in public spaces by allowing victims to report incidents and marking locations with chalk. Additionally, the martial arts community 'Jodan Kamae Zeitz e. V.' received recognition for its project aimed at empowering women through sports and leadership training.

Jacqueline Brösicke from Magdeburg was also honored for her decades of commitment to women's initiatives. Social Minister Petra Grimm-Benne emphasized the importance of these awards at the ceremony in Stendal, noting that support is vital at a time when women's rights are increasingly being challenged.
