Sachsen-Anhalt election: New digital tools released for voters
As the state election in Sachsen-Anhalt approaches, new digital tools have been released to help voters compare political positions. The Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) has launched its Wahl-O-Mat tool, which uses 38 theses to determine party alignment.
A test of various AI models—including GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Mistral—using the Wahl-O-Mat data revealed significant inconsistencies. The models often provided different party recommendations for the same set of questions across multiple runs, suggesting that AI lacks a stable political profile and is highly dependent on context.
Additionally, the platform Abgeordnetenwatch has launched a candidate check portal. This tool allows users to compare the positions of direct candidates across 21 political topics, ranging from childcare fees to the use of AI in public spaces. Currently, approximately 65 percent of direct candidates in Sachsen-Anhalt have positioned themselves on the portal, with the highest participation rates among the CDU, Linke, SPD, and Greens.
