Sachsen-Anhalt outdoor pools report high summer attendance

Outdoor swimming pools in Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany, reported high visitor numbers throughout the summer season. In the state capital, Magdeburg, five beach and outdoor pools hosted 150,337 guests, an increase of approximately 37,500 compared to the previous year. The busiest day occurred during a heatwave in late June, reaching full capacity with 9,300 visitors.

Other regional highlights include:

- Halle: The Saline and Nordbad pools saw 107,000 visitors. - Salzwedel: The outdoor pool recorded 26,229 swimmers, up about 1,000 from last year. A unique event occurred on September 6, when an anonymous donor provided free admission to 122 guests. - Wittenberg: The Piesteritz pool hosted over 20,000 visitors by the end of August. - Wernigerode: The Waldhofbad saw 18,349 visitors during its season from mid-June to late August, which included a belly flop championship event.
