Lakers defeat Kings 127-103 in NBA preseason opener
The Los Angeles Lakers opened their NBA preseason with a 127-103 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Luka Dončić led the Lakers' offense, scoring 21 points in just 16 minutes of play during the first half.
Despite missing several players due to health concerns, including Austin Reaves and Walker Kessler, the Lakers maintained control throughout the game. Rookie Cameron Carr contributed 19 points from the bench, while Quentin Grimes added 16.
The Sacramento Kings struggled with perimeter shooting, finishing the game with only 4 of 23 three-pointers. Domantas Sabonis faced foul trouble, which limited his impact, while Nick Clifford led the Kings with 23 points and 9 rebounds.
Regarding roster updates, the Kings officially ruled out Ben Simmons, Malik Monk, and Keegan Murray for the preseason opener. Simmons, who is recovering from a previous season spent away from the court due to back injuries, is expected to make his debut later this week in a cautious ramp-up approach.
