Sacramento Kings media day hot mic captures reporters discussing players

During the Sacramento Kings' media day, a live broadcast from KCRA captured a hot-mic moment where several reporters were heard discussing players Ben Simmons and Zach LaVine in a personal manner.

The leaked audio featured journalists commenting on the physical appearance of the players while critiquing their personalities. One reporter described Simmons as “cringe” but noted he was “lucky he’s so fine,” while another commented on his smooth skin. Regarding LaVine, the conversation included descriptions of him being “hella fine” and “cute,” contrasted with remarks that his personality “f–king annoys me” and that he seemed like a “prick.”

One of the individuals in the audio was identified by some reports as Sara Hodges, a California-based sports journalist. Zach LaVine’s wife, Hunter, reacted to the viral clip on social media by sharing it with laughing emojis and a caption regarding the start of the season. The Kings organization and the involved reporters have not issued official statements regarding the incident.
