Sacramento Kings sued by former trainer for pregnancy discrimination

Crystal Lee, a former assistant athletic trainer for the Sacramento Kings, has filed a lawsuit in California Superior Court alleging pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.

Lee claims that after informing Jaspreet Randhawa, the team’s Senior Director of Athlete Health, of her pregnancy, she faced demotions and verbal disparagement. The lawsuit alleges Randhawa told her, ‘You’re f—ed,’ and stated her life would be ‘ruined after you have kids.’ Lee further alleges that upon returning from maternity leave, she was restricted from traveling with the team or treating players.

The suit also names General Manager Steve Perry, alleging he told Lee that ‘complainers will not be tolerated’ when she raised concerns. Lee was terminated in June 2025, allegedly by Perry and Vice President of Human Resources Stacy Wegzyn.

An attorney for the Sacramento Kings, Alexis Gabrielson, issued a statement categorically denying the allegations. The organization described Lee as a ‘disgruntled former employee’ and stated they intend to vigorously defend against the claims, maintaining a commitment to a respectful workplace.
