Sacramento State and San Jose State secure victories over Pacific and Cal Poly

In collegiate soccer, Sacramento State defeated the University of the Pacific 4-2. Despite a second-half rally led by freshman Xavier Cisneros, who scored twice, and Harrison Chapura, who recorded his first collegiate goal, the Tigers could not overcome the Hornets' lead.

In collegiate football, Cal Poly suffered its first loss of the season against FBS opponent San Jose State. After starting the season 2-0 under first-year Head Coach Tim Skipper, the Mustangs struggled to establish a running game, finishing with only 91 rushing yards compared to 249 passing yards. Quarterback Anthony Grigsby Jr. led the passing attack, but the team was outscored 10-0 in the fourth quarter.
