Sacramento State prepares for FBS debut in Mid-American Conference

Sacramento State is preparing for its debut in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) this season, joining the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The program transitions from the FCS following the departure of head coach Brennan Marion, who left to serve as the offensive coordinator at Colorado.

The Hornets have appointed Alonzo Carter as their new head coach. Carter previously served as the running backs coach at Arizona and has a diverse background, including a career as a professional dancer for MC Hammer. Sacramento State will begin its MAC campaign with a season opener against Eastern Michigan.
