Sacred music events scheduled for October 18 in Italy
Several sacred music events are scheduled for October 18 in Italy. In Borsano, organist Marco Ruggeri will perform the opening concert of a sacred music series at the parish church of Santi Pietro e Paolo. The program features a diverse repertoire including works by Claude Balbastre, Amilcare Ponchielli, Johannes Brahms, and Saverio Mercadante.
In Pordenone, the Coro Polifonico di Ruda will debut a new production titled ‘Genesi’ at the Duomo di San Marco as part of the 35th Autumn International Sacred Music Festival. The work, themed ‘Faith and Heresy,’ is inspired by the UNESCO heritage cities of Aquileia, Cividale, and Palmanova. The production incorporates biblical texts, liturgical writings, and historical memory, while also serving as a civil commitment against gender-based violence.
