Sacro Monte di Varese to host guided late-summer tours

Archeologistics has announced two late-summer guided walking tours at the Sacro Monte di Varese, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Lombardy, Italy. The events are scheduled for Friday, September 4, and Friday, September 11, 2026, starting at 18:00.

The guided tours will follow the Viale delle Cappelle, a path established in the early 17th century featuring 14 buildings, sculptural groups, and pictorial complexes depicting the mysteries of the Rosary. The route also provides insight into the pre-Alpine people of the early 1600s.

Upon reaching the summit, participants will visit the Sanctuary and the Romanesque Crypt, an ancient church containing frescoes, burials, and graffiti that document the history of pilgrims at the site. The tours are expected to conclude around 20:30. Entry and guided tour tickets are priced at €12 per person, and reservation is mandatory.
