Saïd Chanegriha calls for media to act as a strategic shield against hybrid warfare

General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (ANP) and Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, has called for national media to serve as a strategic shield against hybrid warfare and disinformation.

Presiding over a national seminar in Béni-Messous titled ‘National media and hybrid wars… meeting the challenges and winning the bet’, the General emphasized that modern security threats are no longer confined to physical borders but extend to the immaterial information landscape. He noted that hybrid warfare exploits advancements in information and communication technologies to undermine state security and social cohesion.

Chanegriha highlighted that Algeria is exposed to various forms of these conflicts, including disinformation campaigns, cyberattacks, and subversive activities. He urged media professionals to exercise absolute vigilance and develop operational mechanisms to deconstruct biased information while building a solid, objective national narrative to ensure societal resilience.
