Sada Cruzeiro wins bronze in Campeonato Mineiro volleyball

Sada Cruzeiro secured the bronze medal in the 2026 Campeonato Mineiro men's volleyball tournament after defeating Azulim Monte Carmelo 3-0 on Sunday. The match sets ended 25-20, 25-22, and 25-22.

The result marks the end of a significant era for the club, as their 16-year streak of consecutive state titles, which began in 2010, was interrupted following a semifinal loss to Praia Clube.

Coach Filipe Ferraz noted that while the team is finding its rhythm, there is still work to be done regarding fundamentals such as serving. The match also served as a farewell for player Wilian, who is transferring to Saudi Arabia. Sada Cruzeiro will now prepare for the Supercopa do Brasil, scheduled to face Campinas on October 23.
