Cruzeiro defeats Vitória 3-1 in comeback win at Barradão

Cruzeiro secured a 3-1 comeback victory against Vitória at the Barradão stadium during the 28th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Although Vitória took an early lead through Renê in the 38th minute of the first half, Cruzeiro responded aggressively in the second half.

Kenny Arroyo equalized just 38 seconds into the second half, followed by a goal from Villalba to give Cruzeiro the lead. Matheus Pereira sealed the win with a third goal in stoppage time. The victory moves Cruzeiro to 45 points, keeping them in sixth place and close to the Libertadores qualification zone.

For Vitória, the loss leaves them in 13th place with 33 points, narrowing their margin above the relegation zone. The result also maintains a long-standing historical drought for Vitória against Cruzeiro in the first division. Both teams will now enter a break for the FIFA international window before returning to competition in early October.
