Sadang-dong redevelopment approved for 970 units and 34-story buildings
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has finalized a rapid integrated planning project for the redevelopment of the Sadang-dong 305-35 area in Dongjak-gu. The plan aims to transform the site into a residential complex featuring approximately 970 households with buildings reaching a maximum height of 34 floors.
To address existing infrastructure challenges, such as narrow access roads and significant elevation changes, the plan includes a phased expansion of Sadang-ro 16-gil to a width of 16 meters and four lanes. The development will also feature an improved pedestrian network, including public walkways and elevators to assist movement across the steep terrain.
Community facilities will be enhanced by expanding the existing district youth reading room into a larger youth training facility. The architectural design will utilize a tiered skyline, with the tallest buildings located near the northern station entrance and lower heights toward the south to harmonize with the surrounding residential areas and Namseong Middle School.
