Sadie Sink debuts as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Sadie Sink has made her debut as Jean Grey in the film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. In the movie, Jean is initially introduced as an antagonist motivated by the discovery that the Department of Damage Control experimented on her sister, Sara. After Peter Parker helps Jean empathize with others through a shared memory, a confrontation occurs involving the Punisher, resulting in Peter taking a bullet intended for Jean.

VFX supervisor Jerome Chen revealed at the View Conference that the production faced significant time constraints. Chen noted that he initially opposed using a rainbow-like chromatic anomaly for Jean’s psionic powers, preferring a different visual style, but ultimately reverted to the established visual language with only five weeks of post-production remaining. He admitted that the time crunch impacted the quality of certain visual effects shots.
