Sadie Sink in talks to star in Emma Cline film adaptation ‘The Guest’

A24 and Square Peg are in negotiations to adapt Emma Cline’s bestselling novel, ‘The Guest’, for the big screen. Sadie Sink is in talks to both star in and produce the film, which follows a calculating grifter navigating the high-stakes social landscape of the Hamptons.

Lorene Scafaria, known for directing ‘Hustlers’, is in discussions to write and direct the feature. The project emerged as a frontrunner after a competitive bidding process involving approximately 12 other potential buyers.

The source material, published by Penguin Random House, received significant critical acclaim, earning a longlisting for the PEN/Faulkner Award and being named a best book of the year by various publications including The New Yorker, Time, and The Washington Post.
