Marvel’s D23 publicity cycle drove significant growth for several U.S. Instagram accounts in August 2026. Sadie Sink topped the list with a gain of 2.1 million followers following her appearance at Disney’s D23 Expo, where she promoted the newly announced ‘X-Men’ film after debuting as Jean Grey in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.

Country music legend Dolly Parton secured the second spot, gaining 1.5 million followers following her death on August 25 after a battle with cancer.
