Saedinenie begins €65 million wastewater infrastructure project
The Municipality of Saedinenie has officially commenced construction on a major wastewater treatment plant and associated infrastructure. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the ‘Dzhapunski Kladezets’ site, marking the start of a significant overhaul of the regional water and sewerage network.
The project, implemented by ‘Vodoprovod i Kanalizatsiya’ Plovdiv under the 2021–2027 ‘Environment’ Program, covers the Saedinenie and Rogosh–Skutare agglomerations. It aims to improve ecological conditions, ensure sustainable water management, and meet European Union legislative requirements for wastewater treatment and water quality.
The total budget for the project is approximately €65.28 million, with €40.41 million provided by the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund. Construction is scheduled to run from May 2026 through May 2029.
