Saemaul Geumgo green‑upgrades 13 senior centres in South Korea

The Saemaul Geumgo Central Association donated 2 billion KRW to the Environmental Foundation and announced the “MG Our Neighborhood Green Senior Centre Project”. The initiative will select 13 ageing community centres across South Korea for green retrofitting, including high‑efficiency heating and cooling equipment, insulated windows, solar‑panel installations and upgraded rest‑area facilities. President Kim In said the work aims to boost energy efficiency, support carbon‑neutral goals and improve living conditions for senior users.

The credit‑union group also highlighted related senior‑support programmes, such as a three‑year, 650 million KRW AI companion‑robot project for isolated elders and a senior‑financial‑education course that creates jobs for older citizens.
